When you only have a short time to get ready, it can be difficult to have that perfect “going out” hair-do. In-Style Magazine offered up a few tips for those who want to go from day hair to night hair easily. Whether you are short on time or not, these simple tricks can make you look like you spent a lot of time perfecting your style!
Pulling your hair back into a pony tail is one of the easier tricks- but there are multiple ways to do this! For those with stick straight hair, pull it into a high ponytail using several elastic bands. Then hide the bands by covering them with strips of black electrical tape – it gives structure to the pony tail and a sense of high fashion. If you’re running short on time, comb in some leave in conditioner (while it’s wet) from root to tip, and slick it back into a tight pony. L.A. stylist Jenny Cho says “it dries superslick and sexy on every hair type!”
Looking for a relaxed curl? Don’t try to curl from root to tip otherwise you will end up with a hair style that screams “I’m going to prom!” Instead wrap your hair from the middle around a curling iron. Hold for 30 seconds (make sure the curling iron is not too hot) and pull the rod down. This allows you to create as many or as few curls as you want.
If your hair has lost volume throughout the day, tease it at the crown. Once you’re done with that, smoothly comb over sections of the hair above the teased section and voilà you have volume!
